This Tenerife destination wedding was more holiday than formality, with a rustic finca, a handfasting ritual, and poolside dancing. A celebration of love, colour, and adventure.
We wanted it to feel like one of our holidays - laid-back, sunny, fun, and adventurous. We booked a rustic finca in Tenerife and had everyone stay with us for five days. It was more like a getaway than a formal wedding.
Only include the stuff that feels right for you. Sack off anything that doesn’t sit well - you honestly won’t miss it. We wrote a list of things we wanted at the start of the process, and stuck with those as our foundations. There are a thousand ways to have a fantastic wedding, but you only get one chance to throw your own - so make it yours. For us, that meant a small group, no kids, a relaxed setting, and no formalities we didn’t believe in. Also, if you work in the industry, hand over control where you can. It’s a big shift from running weddings to being in one, but totally worth it. Let go of perfection, and enjoy the moment for what it is.
